New Delhi, November 3, 2009: VisitBritain - the national tourism office of UK - in association with Mersey Travel and The Beatles Story - have organized a weeklong festival of Liverpool -"Imagine Liverpool" at Select CITYWALK, Saket District Centre, New Delhi. Commencing November 1 and to continue until November 8, the Festival will showcase Liverpool as a short-break destination for Indian travelers to UK.
Mr Jerry Goldman, Managing Director, The Beatles Story Ltd said, "Imagine Liverpool is a first step in bringing Liverpool closer to Indians. Liverpool is the UK's most exciting city and enjoys long association with India through its music, culture, business and the strong Indian diaspora. As India sends a sizable number of visitors to UK every year, we want them to enrich their experience by visiting Liverpool as well, which is just two hours away from London Its faster than traveling from one end of Delhi to the other!!"
- The Beatles Story is a unique visitor attraction that transports visitors on an enlightening and atmospheric journey into the life, times, culture and music of the Beatles.
- The Beatles Story is located on Liverpool's historic Albert Dock. The attraction opened in 1990 and has welcomed 3 million visitors from all around the world.
- The experience is accompanied by the 'Living History' audio guide which is narrated by John Lennon's sister, Julia. The Beatles Story offers English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Polish, Russian and Japanese audio guide translations.
- The Beatles Story, Albert Dock has undergone a massive expansion throughout 2008 which has seen it tripple in size. New features include a special exhibition space, 'Going Solo' a new gallery dedicated to the solo careers of John, Paul, George and Ringo, a hands-on interactive Discovery Zone for children and families, the Fab4Store gift shop and the Starbucks coffee house and relaxation area.
- 2009 has seen the opening of a new addition to the Beatles Story, situated at the Pier Hear Ferry Terminal, and featuring a 4D experience and new exhibition and retail spaces.
